Vita

Professor Frese studied Business Administration at the University of Mannheim and the University of Cologne. After completing his Diplom in Cologne (1963), he worked as a research and teaching assistant at the Institute of Organization Design at the University of Cologne, where he also received his Ph.D. (1966). Supported by a grant from the German Science Foundation (DFG), Professor Frese became a research associate at the Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA (1969-1970) and completed his habilitation in Cologne (1970). From 1973 to 1986, he was chaired full professor of the Institute for Production Management and Organization Design at the Aachen Institute of Technology (RWTH). Starting in 1986, he was a full professor for Business Administration and Organization Design, and since 2003 an Emeritus professor, at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Science at the University of Cologne.
