Dynamic capabilities of companies

Responsible person

Dr. Hendrik Wilhelm

Prof. Dr. Mark Ebers

This research project examines which personal and organizational measures support the development of dynamical capabilities of companies. Dynamic capabilities enable companies to rebuild, change, or recombine their resources and abilities. Dynamic capabilities are therefore an essential source of innovation in companies as well as their adaptability to changing conditions. The relevant research is in the tradition of the resource-based basis and has not yet decided sufficiently what exactly dynamical capabilities are, where they are rooted in the organization, how they come into being, and how their advantage can be unfolded. This research aims to fill this gap on the basis of case studies and, eventually, longitudinal studies.
